DJ: 63 yr-old man w/ Severe Arthritis Right Rotator Cuff
This occurred over time from using his shoulder for the tasks involved in owning and working in his marina and also from his teen years in playing ice hockey. The pain was so bad he was not able to golf. He couldn’t lift his arm straight up and he had very limited mobility in his right arm.

He received Ondamed treatments (advanced program) on 12/18/07, 1/7/08, 1/8/08, 1/9/08, 1/10/08, 1/15/08, 1/17/08 and 1/22/08. He previously received micro current treatment but there did not appear to be substantial improvement so the treatment was changed to Ondamed. DJ did not feel relief until he completed all treatments.

Within a few days of receiving the last Ondamed treatment he experienced substantial pain relief and he had full range of motion in his right arm. He plays golf frequently and does not need to limit his sports activity. He may experience some very mild discomfort on occasion. This mild discomfort is nothing compared to the pain he previously experienced. DJ is going back for further Ondamed treatment since he is now experiencing rotator cuff pain in his left shoulder. He is delighted that he does not need to have any surgery or medical intervention.

CF: 67 yrs Man / Severe Arthritis
His complaints included achy joints due to arthritis in his knees, fingers, left and right shoulder and lower back. He also experienced sciatica pain going down on left leg. His pain level was 6 during activity. His pain level due to the arthritis was a 6. He has been suffering from arthritis for the past 15 years pain with increasing pain each year. The sciatica and pain in both shoulders started in May 2008. He took ibuprofen 400mg on average once per day since May 2008 to manage his pain.

His first Ondamed treatment was on 6/16/08. During his second visit on 6/17/08, he reported that the pain from his left shoulder traveled to his left forearm. The right shoulder pain was less. His back pain level decreased to a 5 from a 6. His sciatica pain decreased to a 5 from 6.

During his next treatment on 6/19/08, CF reported that the pain in his left forearm reduced to ½ the pain compared to June 17 treatment when he first reported this pain. His right shoulder pain was reduced and he had no pain in his left shoulder. The sciatica pain level decreased to level 3 from 5 and the back pain decreased to level 4 from 5.

CF received another treatment on 6/23/08 and reported that he no longer felt any pain in his left shoulder or left forearm. He no longer had any pain in his left shoulder. His back pain reduced to level 1 from 4. The sciatica pain decreased to level 1-2 from 3. He had no sciatic pain when he was inactive. As of 7/30/08 he takes on average one (200mg) ibuprofen per week as needed. If his pain returns he will seek additional treatment.    (Case Study conducted by Dr. Shari Lieberman)

FB:  75-year old man w/ 3 consecutive Back Surgeries 20 yrs ago
Due to Numbness and Neuropathy in his legs
The surgeon told him his discs were calcified and pinching the nerves to his legs and performed a “scrapping” of the discs. It took 3 surgeries to relieve his pain and numbness. He was able to walk after the surgery and no longer needed crutches. He still experienced mild discomfort but nothing that he couldn’t live with.

In April 2007 he started to experience the same numbness and neuropathy in his legs and had to walk with crutches again. He also experienced new symptoms of numbness in his hands (he could not make a fist completely) and pain in his right groin. Over the course of the month the pain got continuously worse. However, he refused to see a physician or to take any pain medication. Instead he decided to try ONDAMED treatment and hoped for the best.

On 6/20/07 FB received his first ONDAMED treatment. He did not feel any significant change when he went for his second treatment on 6/22/07. He received another treatment on 6/26/07 and reported that there was no change since the last treatment. On his way home from the visit, his hands started shaking and he could not wait to get home. His urine became almost like syrup and he slept the rest of the day. The next morning he had a carbuncle that had formed overnight on the right side of his groin. It was the size of an orange and was draining pus. His wife immediately started putting mudpacks on it to help it drain more quickly. FB went back to the ONDAMED practitioner on 6/29/07 to show them what had occurred and a photograph was taken of the carbuncle.

What was interesting about the carbuncle is the day that it developed FB was able to completely make a fist and use his hands and he was able to walk without the crutches. The numbness and neuropathy had subsided significantly and improved over the course of the week. After the ONDAMED treatment on 6/29/07 the carbuncle completely drained and healed within a few days. FB continues 2 times per week. FB lives a full and active life and is outside most of the day. In addition to having the neuropathy and numbness, FB also has mild to moderate arthritis of the joints for many years that substantially improved after several treatments. He does not experience any pain, only occasional mild discomfort that does not interrupt his lifestyle and is under excellent control with ONDAMED. His wife also noticed that with ongoing treatment his coloring is excellent and the sparkle is back in his eyes.

VF 85 yr old man suffered from Severe Osteoarthritis

VF had an old football injury that affected his left knee in 1944 when he was playing the sport. As he aged, the injury appeared to cause more pain, particularly over the past 10 years. Ten years ago he underwent an arthroscopic surgery that removed some fragments from his left knee that appeared to be causing the pain. This surgery was able to keep him pain free for about 5 years. At which time he had another arthroscopic procedure. He was told after the arthroscopy that he needed a knee replacement and that the arthroscopic surgery would not offer any further benefit. After the second surgery he still had some discomfort that over the course of time became increasingly worse.

VF had to be careful with the way he would step and even the slightest turn of his foot would cause pain in his knee. If he would sit down or be still for a few moments the pain would dissipate. But this was interfering with the quality of his life because it was becoming a daily (or several times per day) occurrence. He did not want to go through a knee replacement and was looking for other options.

In 2004 he found out about ONDAMED and decided to give it a try. He felt significantly less pain in his left knee after the first 4-5 treatments beginning on 3/30/04. He did not have another occurrence until a few months later and he scheduled another treatment on 6/15/04. Once again, he had no pain for several months. It came back, very mildly and he received another treatment on 9/14/04. He had a follow up preventive treatment on 11/16/04.

EP: 70 yr Woman Osteoarthritis

Patient stated she was having a great deal of problems walking up and down steps due to Osteoarthritis of the hips and knees. She used OTC pain medications when needed.

EP had moved her bedroom to the downstairs of her home due to this issue. Patient was treated with preset programs 47, 98 and 101. Patient noticed great improvement in ability to walk after the first treatment. EP was able to climb steps easily after third treatment. She will receive Ondamed treatments as needed if pain returns. She has not required any treatment for the pain thus far for two years. She stopped the use of pain medications after receiving Ondamed treatment.

Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis that is caused by the breakdown and eventual loss of the cartilage of one or more joints. Cartilage is a protein substance that serves as a "cushion" between the bones of the joints. Primary osteoarthritis is mostly related to aging. With aging, the water content of the cartilage increases and the protein makeup of cartilage degenerates. Repetitive use of the joints over the years irritates and inflames the cartilage, causing joint pain and swelling. Eventually, cartilage begins to degenerate by flaking or forming tiny crevasses.     (Case Study conducted by Dr. Shari Lieberman)

After twelve weeks of ONDAMED, the patient is walking normally, still has mild pain –takes Aleve one to two times per week. She states on a scale of one to ten, her pain level is one to two on occasion. She also reported that she’s no longer urinating as frequently as she did before her treatment and the occasional wetting of her pants had stopped.
